LOCK.PUB supports 11 content types: password-protected links, secret memos, encrypted chat rooms, anonymous polls, encrypted images, collaborative whiteboards, encrypted audio messages, anonymous Ask boards, encrypted location sharing, encrypted file sharing, and secure request links for collecting submissions. Content is stored encrypted and opened with a password.

LOCK.PUB cannot create a link without setting a password.

Nothing is stored in plain text. Chat, board and location content is encrypted in your browser before it is uploaded, so we store only the encrypted data. Other content types are encrypted on our servers with a key derived from your password and are decrypted only when someone opens them with the correct password.

When you create a chat room, all messages are encrypted using the room password as the AES encryption key. The server only stores encrypted data. Anyone with the link and password can join anonymously. Free users get 50 messages per room; Pro users get unlimited.

Create a password-protected poll with multiple options. Participant accounts and display names are not attached to votes. To make repeat voting harder, LOCK.PUB uses a keyed hash derived from the IP address, browser User-Agent, and poll ID. This is a best-effort check, not a guarantee of complete anonymity or election-grade integrity.

The link is saved on the server, but it is stored encrypted and can only be opened with the correct password.
