The default is 20 characters. Use a unique password for each account and save it in a password manager. Character options help match a website’s rules; adding symbols alone does not make a short password safe. This tool creates random strings, not time-based one-time codes or memorable word passphrases.

Is this the same as the link unlock-code generator?

No. This tool defaults to 20 characters for account passwords. The shorter hand-typed code offered in sharing forms serves a different purpose. Keep the credential you share different from the password protecting its link.

Can LOCK.PUB recover the result after I leave?

This generator does not save the result. Copy it to a trusted password manager before leaving. A compromised browser, extension or device can still see what is displayed.

Does opening the memo creator upload the password?

No. The link opens an empty creator without the generated value in its URL. If you paste and submit a memo, that separate sharing flow sends the text and unlock password to the server over HTTPS; it is not end-to-end encryption.
