Keep access to your created links
A standard note can be opened again while it remains valid. Connect your guest session to an account before losing the session if you want to keep its dashboard history.

This page creates a reusable sharing link for private text. It is intended for sending a secret memo to someone in a browser. For a personal journal or a collection of saved notes, look for a notebook app designed for that workflow.
Can the note be reopened, or should I choose One-Time Secret?
Private Note is reusable: anyone with the link and password can reopen it while access remains allowed. Choose One-Time Secret for one successful password unlock, after which further reveals are blocked. A guest can create one free one-time secret; Pro supports repeated creation.
Can the recipient copy or screenshot the note?
Yes. Password protection and access limits do not prevent someone from saving content after unlocking it. Closing access later does not remove their copies.
What is a private note link?
It is a shareable LOCK.PUB URL that shows a public label first, then reveals the private note only after the recipient enters the password.
How do I send a secure note online?
Write the sensitive text in the private note field, set a strong password, and create the link. Send the link to your recipient and share the password through a separate trusted channel.
Are these notes end-to-end encrypted?
No. The note and password travel to LOCK.PUB over HTTPS. The server encrypts the note for storage and decrypts it after a successful password check. This is server-side encryption, not end-to-end encryption.
Can I create one without signing up?
Yes. LOCK.PUB starts a guest session when you submit the form, then offers account save after the link is created.
Can the recipient open it without an account?
Yes. Recipients only need the link and the password.
Where should I send the password?
Use a separate channel whenever the note is sensitive. Do not put the link and password in the same message.
